6/30/2006 One year ago today ...My first blog entry! Happy Anniversary to me! Click the link below to read my first entry.
TGIF!!Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh ...Friday at last!!
It was a busier week than I expected. So much to do, so little time to do it! Even though I had the week off from school I still didn't have enough hours in the day to do all that needed to get done. Construction began this week and my house is litterally torn apart. No amount of planning could have prepared me for this. I mean I knew what I was getting into and all but my house is going to be a disaster for the next 2-3 months. Good thing vacation is right around the corner! I have created a new album (yes I finally remembered what I had to do since the update to get them there) titled "house phase1". I imagine that I will have a ton of picture to display and I can't wait for the final ones to be posted!
In other news, yesterday was my good friend's last day at work

Hey, don't write yourself off yet
It's only in your head you feel left out or looked down on. Just try your best, try everything you can. And don't you worry what they tell themselves when you're away. It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride. Everything, everything will be just fine, everything, everything will be alright, alright. Hey, you know they're all the same. You know you're doing better on your own, so don't buy in. Live right now. Yeah, just be yourself. It doesn't matter if it's good enough for someone else. It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride. Everything, everything will be just fine, everything, everything will be alright, alright. It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride. Everything, everything will be just fine, everything, everything will be alright, alright. Hey, don't write yourself off yet. It's only in your head you feel left out or looked down on. Just do your best (do your best), do everything you can (everything you can). And don't you worry what their bitter hearts (bitter hearts) are gonna say. It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride. Everything, everything will be just fine, everything, everything will be alright, alright. It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride. Everything, everything will be just fine, everything, everything will be alright. 6/25/2006 Week off ...Hi guys! Sorry I've been out of the blogging loop for a few days. I've been busy wrapping up this set of classes and getting my house packed up for major renovation.
So far so good on the school front. Now that I have a week off I can blog and read blogs on a more regular basis. My next set of classes begin on July 2nd, atcually they usually open two days early ...ugh.
My house is a standing disaster. I thought that moving would be worse than remodeling but now I'm beginning to wonder. Here is the scope of the project: revmove second floor from existing Cape and rebuild to a Colonial. Yes, I said remove second floor. Everything from the second floor had to be packed up. In a way it was a good thing as we were able to get rid of a lot of crap. Kids have a way of holding on to everything!! So, the second floor is just about empty. You're probably saying to yourself: 'where will the kids sleep' ...ha ha ha ...foiled again. The living room will be a community room for the next 2-3 months and yes, I've ordered a laptop to keep my sanity!
Once the second floor is complete there is some work to do downstairs as well. Replacing carpet with hardwood, new tile floor and backsplash in the kitchen and a new toilet, vanity and sink in the bathroom. Oh and the downstairs bedroom will be converted into an office. There's outside work to be done as well. I'm still waiting to her from a guy on clearing trees and land.
What a project! Maybe moving would have been easier 6/21/2006 Headline of the week follow-upLewis the cat gets home detentionJudge spares accused serial-scratcher, owner on probation
Wednesday, June 21, 2006; Posted: 12:43 p.m. EDT (16:43 GMT)
"There are no exceptions. None," said Judge Patrick Carroll, who also granted accelerated rehabilitation to Lewis' owner, Ruth Cisero of Fairfield, Connecticut. That means her record will be expunged if she successfully completes two years of probation. Cisero had faced a charge of reckless endangerment. Neighbors complained that the cat's long claws and stealth have allowed it to attack at least a half-dozen people and ambush the Avon cosmetics lady as she got out of her car on her neighborhood rounds. Cisero had rejected a previous offer of accelerated rehabilitation if she agreed to euthanize Lewis. Carroll said Lewis cannot leave the house, even if he gets out accidentally. He said the case is not about a cat, but about people having the right to live in safety in their neighborhoods. Janet Kettman, one of Lewis" victims, has previously said she and her neighbors on Sunset Circle are always looking over their shoulders in fear the stalker will strike again. "He attacks from the back," Kettman said. "You never see it coming. He has six toes on every foot, which constitutes a very formidable weapon." "He will not retreat," Kettman said. "His mouth is open and his tail is swishing." "Also, he gives out mixed signals," Kettman continued. "He would sidle against you and purr. You bend down to pet him and he'd attack you." The case drew national attention. Lewis has appeared in People magazine and his own page on the social networking site MySpace.com. But Cisero said Tuesday she would prefer to have never had the attention. "I never thought it would come to this," she said. "It's been an absolute nightmare. It's ruined my life." Lewis was put on the antidepressant Prozac, but his owner was worried and took him off it because he became too sleepy.
It's official ...Happy Summer!! 6/19/2006 Move over JennyDoes anyone else find this as humorous as I do?
Nestle to Buy Jenny Craig for $600M
Monday , June 19, 2006
Associated Press
VEVEY, Switzerland — In a new twist in corporate synergy, Nestle AG, the world's biggest food and drink company, said Monday it will fatten up its weight-loss business by buying Jenny Craig Inc. for $600 million.
The current management team of Jenny Craig, which is based in Carlsbad, Calif., will continue to run the business and report directly to Nestle, the Swiss company said in a statement. Nestle is buying Jenny Craig — which employs more than 3,000 people — from two private equity groups, ACI Capital and MidOcean Partners. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter, the private equity firms said in a statement. Weight management will become a new business within Nestle's nutrition unit and will reinforce its U.S. presence. The Swiss company already owns the Lean Cuisine line of foods. "With this strategic acquisition, the group takes another important step in its transformation process into a nutrition, health and wellness company," said Nestle Chairman and Chief Executive Peter Brabeck-Letmathe. "The rise of obesity and the resulting metabolic disorders, such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease, is a major public health concern, not only in the USA but also the world over," Brabeck-Letmathe said. Jenny Craig, which has more than 600 weight-loss centers in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand, generated sales of more than $400 million in the past 12 months and achieved double-digit internal growth. Nestle shares gained 1 percent to 369.75 Swiss francs ($300.38) in Zurich trading. Monday ...Monday ...it happens once a week. 6/18/2006 MSN BluesIs it just me? I say that often don't I? But seriously, I haven't been able to manuver around spaces since Thursday or Friday. The page froze up and I had no other choice but to Ctrl+Alt+Del. I couldn't even get into my own site! So if you were wondering what happened to me that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
6/15/2006 Biggie no moreMy discovery of the week ...aside from the Happy Period thing.
Yesterday I went to Wendy's for lunch. Our options are limited here and Wendy's is the closest. Anyhoo ...any where I go I order the largest size beverage I can. It used to be the Super Size at McDonalds but then America got fat so they took that away from us. At Wendy's it has been the Biggie Size, iced tea is my beverage of choice. I'm at the drive thru, placing my order "with a Biggie iced tea". The guy then says "just so you know, that's 40ozs". Ummmm ...yeah ..."OK, I'll still take it". Why did he need to warn me about the size of the beverage?
I get to my desk and begin to take my lunch out of the bag and there's a Super Biggie size fries ...now there's an item that needs a warning. He didn't tell me that! I got a kick out of it. As the afternoon progressed and my beverage long out lasted my food, I began to think of reasons for a warning. Like a larger size cup will yield more sweat, so be careful when you pick it up. OR ...increase in size of beverage will directly result in an increase in urination. Those are helpful hints!
Today I worked right through the lunch hour, which has been defined as 11:30 - 12:00 and I know that's not an hour but that's how we see it. Around 2:00 I'm feeling hungry so I thought to myself 'go back to Wendy's and see if you get a 40oz warning'. This time the girl took my order and I drove around to pay. Immediately she slid 3 cups in front of her and went through the sizes, "this is small, this is medium and this is large. they have changed the sizes and the Biggie is actually a medium and this is the large (pointing to the 40oz cup)". To which I reply "OK, I'll take the large". Only to find out they're out of those cups so I ended up with what I know as the Biggie but it's actually a medium.
So does this mean McDoalds will be offering the Super Size again? 6/14/2006 Is this really necessary?Upon opening a feminine product (that shall remain nameless) I am greeted ...in writing ...on the individual package ..."Have a happy period".
Who thought this up?? It had to be a man ...had to be! Happy?! There's only one way in which this is happy and that's if you don't want to be pregnant. Maybe that's their angle. I don't know ...it's disturbing and funny all at the same time. A happy period ...I could go on but it will just get sick.
To all my lady friends ...Have a Happy Period! Score one for me!That's right ...guess who's closing this Friday!! Yep ...it's me!! 6/13/2006 This and Tat ...It's that time of year again when Kim starts thinking she needs another tattoo ...but what to get??
*I was going to post pics of what I have but I can't at the moment. Please stay tuned.
**OK, it seems as if I cannot add pics ...MSN and their changes. It says I need to install something or other and when I try nothing happens. Yet another conspiracy!
6/12/2006 #1 Reason Why I Love MyselfI can turn from pleasant to bitch in a single second
Hard to believe I know but I am female after all. Plus I was provoked!
I've been patiently waiting on a closing for a re-fi and building loan for what seems to be forever. OK, maybe not forever but it's been well over a month! On Friday I called the mortgage department (again) and got the usual response "everyone is in a closing at the moment, can I take your name and number and I'll have someone call you back?". HA! So I left my name and number knowing damn well that I wouldn't be hearing from them any time soon.
Today I thought I would take a different approach and call the lady at the bank who sold me on this whole process. What's her response "they're not going to call you, you have to call them". To which I say, "I have been calling but nobody is calling me back". She then tells me to tell them I NEED to schedule the closing. FINE! I'll do that!
Ring, ring, ring ..."I'm sorry everyone is in a closing at the moment ..." ...NOT THIS TIME HONEY! It's at this moment when I shifted into bitch gear and tell her "I have been leaving my name and number for a month now and it's getting frustrating!". From there I was connected to Pete
6/11/2006 On the loose ...Crickets ...need I say more?
Mipsy the bearded dragon requires a lot of crickets during the spring and summer months. For some reason she slowed down late fall and during winter. So how do you cut costs with the increase of cricket intake? Why you buy in bulk! That's right, crickets are now a bulk food item, for Mipsy at least. A box of 500 usually lasts about a month. That is of course when they don't die because it's too cold ...OR ...they get loose in your living room!!
What to my wondering eyes did appear? Well it wasn't the big guy and his raindeer I can tell you that much. First thing this morning I get up, go to the bathroom and what do I see ...a cricket hopping his way to the door. At first I thought it was me and I was still sleepy but no. Before I go any further I would like to add a disclaimer *I do not keep the crickets in the house, I have a tank that's on the back porch where they reside. However, I did not feed Mipsy last night. The man of the house had his thinking cap on, knew it would be too cold for the crickets outside and brought them in. They hadn't been put in the tank yet because it needed to be cleaned so they were still in their box. When I looked at the box there were crickets on the outside of it!! The box was closed and there was even a rock placed on top so how did they get out? This question remained a mystery for most of the day until it was discovered that there was a hole in the box.
So most of today was spent catching crickets and setting them free. After they're exposed to the outside world (that being my living room) they cannot be used as food. Can't risk harming the dragon in any way.
I suppose today was a good day for the dozens of crickets who were given a pardon and went on their way. As for me, I'm out a couple bucks. 6/10/2006 ooops ...Sorry guys ...I accidentally blocked everyone out!
MSN has made changes to spaces again so I was poking around and I changed my permissions and didn't realize it. Good thing I didn't delete my blog ...for some reason I can see myself doing that. LOL
The good news is that it looks like MSN will have a friends feature. I'm not sure what that is but it sounds fun.
6/9/2006 Attack of the Friday FlashbackThis weeks FlashBack is from my freshman year in high school ...yeah that's going back a ways.
You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)

I want your love... All I know is that to me You look like you're lots of fun Open up your lovin' arms Watch out, here I come I want your love... I want your love... Raindrops keep falling on my headI woke up this morning and realized that I don't live in NY. Don't ask me when because I don't remember but I must have moved to Seattle. It's been raining for what seems to be months now.
Rain, rain go away ... 6/8/2006 New featureI would like to add a new feature to my blog. Actually, I would like to add many but really I should be concentrating on my homework
I digress ...
Children's toy rating ...is my new feature. Now this can spin off into many different categories but for now I'm sticking with the basics. Perhaps I rate it on a scale of 1-5 with 1 being the best and 5 being the worst but 1-5 what ...stars, toy blocks, bouncey balls ...I guess for now it will just be 1-5.
First toy up ...Don't Break the Ice by none other than Milton Bradley, ages 3-6.
In this game you set up the ice and place the polar bear (I think that's what it is) in the slot. The object is not to let the bear fall through as you hammer away at the ice while taking turns. Well, the best thing that comes out of this game is the lesson of taking turns. Setting up the ice takes time only to be smashed to pieces by a 3 year old who doesn't understand the concept of the game. At what age do they grasp the concept ...maybe 4 or 5 but to the 3 year old it's all about making noise and breaking things. This isn't a bad thing as they seem to like it and want you to set it up again as soon as it's broken (that's the bad part). Then try to get it back in the box with the top closing ...ha ha ha ...it's a cruel joke good old Milton is playing on us adults.
Rating: 2.5
*This just in ...it's a blogging breakthrough ...OK it was all user error before. LOL I have created a new list for Children's Toy Review! Damn I'm good!
