2007/5/30 Pride MonthA couple days early but just a reminder ...June is Pride Month (note this years pic in my photo album). Thank you to Kelly from "Rambling along in life ...". I'm not good with links and all but you can find his blog at www.kellystern.net.

I'm sorry guys, I will do better. Much like my job, my life has undergone a bit of a re-org. Speaking of work, one day I have a job, then next day they don't know. Ah, I'm used to it, I've been getting laid off since 2000. I know I'll have a job through the end of the year or at least be paid as if I do, I'm cool with that. If nothing transpires here I'll have a nice package to fall back on. The way I look at it, I'll either have a job or cash, can't complain there.
In the news ...
Politics - Who isn't running for President? Can we narrow this down a bit? I suppose it's already unofficially narrowed down but I mean really, why have so many on stage for a debate when it doesn't matter what most of them think anyway? Face it, we know the front runners and unless they royally screw up, those are the opinions that matter. While I'm on the topic, I'm torn between Hillary and Obama. I like both of them so I guess I need to take a closer look on where they stand. Oh it doesn't matter, I'm registered as Independent so I can't vote it the primary.
Legal Issues - Phil Spector ...from the looks of him I can't see how he could muster up the strength to hold a gun but hey, stranger things have happened. I believe him to be guilty (as I do with anyone who needs to defend themselves). And what's with the CA courts? Do they ever work? Why can't I get decent coverage of this trial online? I miss too much. I need an east coast trial so I can keep up, at least they work 5 days a week.
Reality TV - WOOT! Dancing with the Stars wrapped up last night and Apolo and Julianne won! WOO HOO! They were such a cute couple and awsome from the start. When does the next season begin? American Idol wraps it up tonight. I didn't really care for this season, the talent was lacking. Melinda was my pick, none of them compared to her but as we all know, she'll land on her feet. Now I'm waiting for Big Brother to begin. This is my all time favorite reality tv show, although Dancing with the Stars is a very close second. What number are they up to now, 8? I hope they do a good job casting this one. CBS, don't disappoint!
School Sex Scandles - We have one of our own going on right now. "EAST GREENBUSH -- The Columbia High School teacher accused of having oral sex trysts in a classroom with a male student posed on the Internet as a 15-year-old boy from Albany, authorities said Tuesday." Supposedly this was concentual but the boy is 16 making it illegal, not to mention the ethics involved. My view on this might surprise you. All of these cases of 16 year old boys and girls having sex with a teacher are getting out of control. I have no facts but I'm not blind, a lot of these "kids" know what they're doing and I'll go one step further and say some of them probably take the lead role. Again, I have no facts but the way today's youth dress and act, how can you not see that they're partially to blame. Now the story changes if they're under age of 13, I would say that they are typically the victims. AGAIN, THIS IS ALL ACCORDING TO ME, NO FACTS, NO DETAILS, JUST HOW I SEE THINGS. |
